A Dong Vietnamese Restaurant in San Antonio

I have only done to go here but I always get the meatball pho and it’s so delicious. Great to go portions too!

The server is very friendly and prompt! The variety of options in the menu is really great, so you won't be limited with just a few. The interior design of the restaurant is really cozy and relaxing.

First off the hostess was rude to my friend. She asked for a menu and she threw it on the table. Second the food is disgusting!!! Don’t waste your time!! I was so disappointed!! I had the general joe chicken with fried rice. The rice was mushy with no flavor !!!

I came here for two reasons, good reviews and a referral. Sadly, my meal was not at all good. 😭 I wanted to like it and try but it was terrible. However, the staff is extremely excellent in customer service. I'll give them another try and update.

Nice place. Good food but not too crowded. Their Ca Kho To is very good, worth trying.

As usual, a great experience overall! The food is always fresh and delicious, served in a friendly atmosphere.

Try the Special Lomein, and the Wonton soup.

Ordered the $8.95 Lunch Special Shrimp with Cashews. It was just OK, the shrimp were rather small, had to add some chili paste for a little flavor. After the $2.20 ice tea, tax, & tip it was a $14 lunch!

First, the service was awesome and the place was very clean. Never had to ask for anything and the timing of my orders was perfect. I had the spring roll with shrimp, very tasty. For dinner, i had the (124) rice noodle soup with variety of beef, just perfect. All the dishes were full of flavor. I will definitely be back. I paid about $15 for everything, well worth it.

Went to eat with GF and had the duck plate. It was good and a good amount of duck portions. I would say the price and food was reasonable compared to most places. Not a lot of places with duck so that made me happy

Their Duck Pho is incredible! Love ordering it everytime I come here, was super satisfied by how much duck there was in the Pho. Also, the broth was definitely duck broth, didn't leave a single sip or a single bite left. Can't wait to come back and eat it again. 😊

I have been going to this restaurant for years. As a commercial real estate broker specializing in restaurants business and real property, I m a little pickier than others. Usually their food is very good. Last week, We ordered quail, seafood salad, vegetable shrimp and chicken over the crispy noddle. I was a little disappointed because the vegetables were way over cooked, almost taste like left over from the day before. But the quail and salad were very good, very tasty and fresh. So this time I gave only 4 stars. But this restaurant is still the best Vietnamnese restaurant in my opinion with their variety and authenticity.

The best Vietnamese food I have ever tried. I was lucky to experience this restaurant as it is one of its kind. Everyone there is welcoming and attentive. Amazing all in all

Spice pallet was a little sweeter than I’m used to, but everything was very good. Many good lunch specials that will get you fueled up for less than $10. I like the General Joe’s Chicken - nice strips of white breast meat. Not the little bits of over fried mystery meat you sometimes get at other places.

Service was quick and pleasant, the food is above average but it's not spectacular. Portion sizes are appropriate for the price charged and everything looks very clean. The decor is clean, modern, and stylish. I feel like the lunch special is very much worth it. I will happily return the next time I desire Chinese or Vietnamese cuisine during the week.

Really nice modern decor, the food was serviceable but nothing fantastic. The pho broth was missing the star anise and black cardamom, but was still good. The Chinese sounding dishes were just not very good. Lemongrass pork was flavorful but too sweet for my taste. Very friendly and good service.

Food was great! Fresh with reasonable portions. Atmosphere is nice. Larger inside than I expected, but still felt very cozy. Service was just to my taste. Friendly, quick, and ready with refills whenever my drink was empty, but not constantly in my face the way they are at some of the bigger chains. Personally, I don't mind smaller family places that let their staff act a little more casually, feels less sterile that way. Lunch specials are a great deal! A little under 9 bucks with an entree, rice, soup, and egg roll. Great place to bring the family or have a quick lunch. Will definitely be going back!

I'm saying it...I absolutely love A Dong! Fresh perfectly prepared dishes. Exceptional service. The Spring rolls are fabulous- looking for great Vietnamese food, here's the place!

A Dong has become a family favorite. Their dishes are consistent and delicious. Highly recommend the duck noodles and the crispy fried squid. Seriously, their crispy squid is the best in town and is a must order when we visit. Great value and quality food.

This place is wonderful! Our first trip to a Vietnamese restaurant and it was excellent. The staff was very helpful to the newbies and make great choices for us.

I eat here when I’m craving Vietnamese food. It is not the best Vietnamese food I have a bad but I think it is the best in San Antonio. Service is always really quick and attentive.

There is a large menu and my food was good. The place was clean and the staff was nice.

Really pretty restaurant. Was kind of empty for a Thursday night, never been here before do i don't know if that's normal. Food came out quickly and all the waiters were nice.

First off i paid 30 dollars for 2 very salty plates and asked for fried rice and got steamed rice instead. Also one of the plates was suppose to be spicy beef broccoli and didn't have a shred of spicy. Definitely won't be returning. One and done!!!

Delicious food and always fast service. I love the broth in their pho, lots of different flavors. Highly recommended and great for a quick lunch spot!

3 tables in the whole restaurant with 5 waiters and they forgot one of our orders. Waitress even came back and asked what i ordered. Waiters were on the phone and sitting at empty tables. My daughter asked dor no chives and they told her they were grilled so they are nit chives. We had to remove them at the table.

We always enjoy our time here. The food tastes good, the price is just right and the waiters come to you with a smiling face and willingness to serve and please their customers.

We love this restaurant and the food so much, but we recently went with our 3 month old & while we were there I needed to change her. No big deal right? Wrong. They don’t have a changing table in the women’s restroom. I’m not one to write negative reviews, but having to leave the restaurant and go to my car to change my child, is crazy inconvenient. It’s 2019, please install a changing table in your women’s restroom! Surely I am not the first woman to have noticed or had to deal with the inconvenience.

This was our first time at this restaurant. I have to tell you, my wife and I were not disappointed at all. We started out with spring rolls as the appetizer and had rice with pork chops and the A Dong Fried Rice. The food was amazing and the service excellent!!

First of all terrible service. Soup was awful. Food was worse. Waiters where constantly on there phones. Never will go back even if it was the only Chinese food left in San Antonio

Never ever go here if you're a vegetarian. Maybe this was a bad experience but I can not give it a second chance. I got expired tofu food!!! If you're a vegetarian and love tofu, you know that tofu can spoil if not eaten after a certain time. This place served me spoiled tofu and when I told the waiter, his English was so limited that he didn't understand. He didn't even bring anyone by to translate so that he could understand that IT WAS SPOILED. No no never again.

The egg rolls was a wonderful appetizer. Coulppe that with lettice bean sprouts and the dipping sauce it was a whole new flavor. Wonderful treat.The Green team had notes of bubblegum Whit is something I've never had before. I highly recommend this for people to try. The duck soup was a light soup but with the side additions each bite was new experience.

The food didn't taste like Chinese food. It seemed like the were using old stocked products the didn't use while they were closed. Very disappointed. They were apologetic but the food was not good.

Always my favorite, I did the Chicken Pho today with the Coconut water(Amazing) I could drink this everyday. The service was very fast and the taste was on point. Definitely recommend them.

Wonderful prices, great entree selections.Clean bathrooms, always clean tables.Friendly staff, great service.I ordered the Fried Vietnamese Roll that comes with the garnish and fish sauce. Also the Singapore Noodle with Shrimp, Chicken, and Veggies.

Large venue, authentic food and staff. Great lunch spot for noodles, pho or great rice dishes.

Had the "banquet" style entree and it was enjoyable. Lots of choices, tho the shrimp entree was one of the best of all the other choices. Not sure I wanna do it again.. but if you have not tried it, do it with 6-8 per table.

I love this restaurant. I’ve been eating here for years, ever since they opened at this location. The food is top notch. Their staff are friendly and fast. You couldn’t ask for a better dining experience.

Very good vietnamese food

Me and my husband love this restaurant.The place is nice and quiet. Its clean from outside and from the inside. Free parking as well for customers. We always order the same kinds of food! Lol #FavoriteFood.Money wise , its affordable! The serving before is much bigger than now but the taste and savory is still the same. Highly recommend to everyone!
